UI/UX Case study
Project Overview
Overview
Nowadays, parking is a major issue. Cities are becoming bigger by the day, and driving seems to be the best way to get around. However, finding a suitable parking space appears to be the most difficult task. We can't locate a good parking spot because there isn't enough, or they're very expensive, especially in city centers.
The problem
To create a mobile application that enables users to locate a parking space, book and pay through digital means, and easily track their vehicles.
Understanding the Problem
- Most cities have restricted or unorganized parking spaces.
- The majority of vehicles are parked along the road, causing traffic congestion.
- Many parking lots use paper tickets.
- People frequently miss where they park their vehicles.

My Design Process
Step 1
Understand
Understanding the problem better, considering various solutions, and understanding about the users and corporate goals.
Step 2
Define
I diligently observe the brand's target audience and users, uncover their pain points, and discover their needs.
Step 3
Ideate
To crystallize the product vision, prioritize features and functionalities, I Create user flows to highlight potential pitfalls and critical moments.
Step 4
Design
Diverging widely and investigating a variety of potential options. Testing, iterating, discussing, gathering input, and working through the issue are all part of the process.
Step 5
Testing/Refinement
I diligently observe the brand's target audience and users, uncover their pain points, and discover their needs.
Step 6
Handoff & Monitoring
Working closely with engineering and product to achieve a smooth transition. The task is not finished! I keep an eye on the product's performance.
Understand
User Interview
In this section, I chose to interview 5 potential users. The goal of this interview was to familiarise users with the problem and worries. How do they locate storage areas? The following are some of the assessment questions:
- What difficulties do you have finding a parking space?
- When do you find it difficult to locate a parking space?
- What do you spend for parking?
Key insight from the Interviews
- It is challenging to find a parking spot.
- During peak hours, it is challenging to find a parking space.
- The majority of the parking spaces are taken.
- Parking spaces are costly in cities.

Online Survey
Following the user interview, I chose to learn more about user models. First, a questionnaire was created and distributed to the intended audience. The online poll provided me with additional information. The number of members is 70.
Competitive Analysis
After identifying users problems, I moved on to comparable products to analyse competitors. This will assist me in understanding user empathy to grasp key aspects of the model.

Define
Affinity Mapping

User Persona
I made a representative based on the information I collected from interviewing users in order to gain a better understanding of their concerns and needs. I can now come up with better concepts.

Empathy Mapping
After identifying the target users, was time to empathize with the users and have a better understandind and helps delve into the minds of the users.

Ideate
Brainstorming
After thoroughly comprehending the problems, it was time to generate a variety of ideas. I brainstorm in order to come up with original and creative solutions to pre-existing issues.

Prioritization

Information Architecture
I designed IA for the best findability and understandability, with a focus on clearly and logically organising information within digital products.

Design
Wireframe
I am now in the design process. This is where I quickly created the wireframes. Components and elements are designed more clearly and precisely in wireframes

Moodboard
A mood board is a collage of photos, typefaces, features, icons, and UI components used to describe a project's visual vision.

App Logo
I simply wanted the logo to be basic and visually appealing. So I combined the two essential parts of my brand's design that I designed.

Visual Design
I turned the wireframes into final screens. I made the UI design basic and intuitive with a user-centered approach. The design shown below offers a straightforward onboarding and booking process.
Splash and Onboarding Screens
The splash screen displays the app's branding, whilst the onboarding screens assist users in gaining a basic grasp of the application.

Login and Signup Screens
Simple login page with mobile number verification and driver license uploading for identification and verification.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
Lesson Learned
Working on this case study has been challenging and interesting. It was gratifying and thrilling to receive and put into practice feedback from the interview I did.
The lengthy and exciting process of developing a product to the point where it is finally usable starts with the original design ideas.
I improved at being able to tell my own assumptions from the outcomes of the user interviews.
